I started the Open University in the summer of 2003.
The OU recently changed the way that courses count toward a degree. To get an Ordinary Degree you must achieve 300 points with no more than 120 at Level 1. For Honours, you must take another 60 points at Level 3. It's a good system if you want to study subjects that interest you but that don't fit into a particular qualification. Since most of my courses were arty, I received a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and then decided to do another year which gave me an Honours degree with Art History.
I've still to decide whether to go and collect my degree at an official graduation ceremony. I'm thinking that I might choose the Versailles location in September 2009!
