On the Filbert Steps, San Francisco
Transamerica Building and Bank of America from our room

January was a very sunny and warm month. Temperatures above normal and no rain. Okay, I know you don't want to hear that! But at last this month we've got some rain and cold.  Nobody wants water rationing this summer (and the ski resorts want more snow now) so it's good news. And a chance to wear some new 'winter' clothes!

We stayed overnight in San Francisco when we went to the annual Noir City Film Festival. We saw a double bill of "Slightly Scarlet" and "Wicked as they come" which was a British production with Sid James playing an American!  Both films starred Arlene Dahl who gave an interview between films and was highly entertaining.

The next day before the evening show we walked around the Embarcadero and up the Filbert Steps over to North Beach.
