Sunset at the Beach House, Lawai

We had a lovely week in Kauai, Hawaii. We divided our time between the North Shore (Hanalei) and the South Shore (Poipu). We preferred the North Shore for the scenery and quiet unspoilt beaches but the Poipu area has more restaurants and dependable weather.

The Beach House restaurant was a few minutes walk from our self-catering cottage and even if you didn't eat at the restaurant, the sunset could be had for free. We did return to the restaurant on another evening and it was very good. We also snorkelled in the bay behind us in the photograph.
